Navratri Special – Low Fat Makhana Kheer

🥛 Ingredients:
Skimmed milk – 1 litre
Makhanas (puffed lotus seeds) – ¼ cup
Almonds (chopped) – 2 tsp
Pistachios (crushed) – 2 tsp
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Sugar/jaggery – 2 tbsp
👩🍳 Method:
In a deep vessel, pour in the milk.
Break the makhanas into smaller pieces, add them to the milk, and let it simmer for about 1 ½ to 2 hours (without covering) until the milk reduces and the seeds soften.
Add sugar/jaggery and stir for a few minutes.
Mix in pistachios, almonds, and cardamom powder. Stir well.
Serve hot or cold, as per your preference.
